Hi Maintainers
There is a feature often requested by users of Fineract for savings account to have a name .
Do i have the permission to create a ticket to address this and also ensuring that there is backward compatibility ( when no name is passed , client name is used )

can you elaborate a little further? what kind of name we are talking about? what's the current behaviour and what's the expectation?

today , when a savings account is created , It does not come with a name and as such you can only tie to client's name
However , People want a flexibility to allow for creation of savings account where the account can be tagged "Emergency Savings" or anything
This will require creating a new column in `m_savings_account` for `account_name`

so its like a "fantasy name" for it?

@Horlugingin Ayoade - there's already the concept of giving a Product Name to a Product Definition. See create Product flows... then, once you have a client who needs that product, you open an account of that Product type (and name). I don't know why you would need to have anything more... Sally can have an Emergency Savings account, a Saving Standard Savings Account, etc.

Are you talking about the label that appears in a front end app that is chosen by the User? An alias? Are you sure that belongs in the backend system?

Hi @James Dailey , Thank you for the insight . The use case is more of a client(John Doe) having multiple savings accounts and giving each a name . e.g ( John & sons , The Doe family savings ). I can keep this on hold till we have a major justification
