Hi @David Higgins @edcable @Adam Saghy @Victor Romero and the Mifos/Fineract team!
I'm Noel , a backend heavy engineer with a strong focus on Java and Spring Boot. I’m applying for GSoC 2026 and am specifically targeting the 'Event Driven Architecture for stand-alone modules' project.
I have professional/hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Avro schemas (including schema evolution and event serialization). I’m very comfortable with microservices and I've already successfully built the Fineract backend locally using gradle.

Excited to contribute! Github: "https://github.com/noel-mugisha"

Hello everyone,
My name is Rohan . I am a Java backend developer with experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Docker. Recently I have been exploring the Mifos X codebase and its reporting architecture.
I am particularly interested in the GSoC project “Eclipse BIRT Reporting Engine – Pentaho replacement.” I would like to contribute to improving the reporting system and understand how the current Pentaho-based reporting module works in Mifos X.
Could someone point me to the relevant modules or suggest issues related to reporting that I could start exploring?
Thanks, and I look forward to contributing.

Thanks for interest in Mifos GSOC projects please head to our #C5KKAMQCW or #C09JGLN1H6Y channels. This channel is for discussion on the Apache Fineract Backend which is one the components Mifos X builds upon.
